Welcome!

Who We Are

  • Hi, I’m Loren Polster, a graphic designer and front-end web developer of 15 years in the process of building a little virtual agency.
  • We focus on assets for marketing teams — rebrands, website design & dev, social & display ads, event collateral, and of course, polishing PPTs by tomorrow. Some projects are simple and executional, and others are deliciously custom and complex.
  • We specialize in integrated but flexible retainer contracts for medium-sized SaaS companies. We aim for an optimal blend of reliability and adaptability — combining the best of an in-house team and an external agency.
    • We’re honing in on a formula that could work well with where work is heading: remote, fractional, balanced with life.
  • If you’re interested in building something, in having your ideas be heard and in improving yourself and others, let’s chat.

How This Works

  • This application isn’t a binary hiring process.
  • If the interviews go well, we’ll start you with some small projects to test working together.
    • That might lead to a retainer contract or more.
  • Either way, you’re getting your name on a list for a growing number of opportunities —  here or elsewhere — that fit with what you’re looking for and specialize in.

We Can Offer

Adaptable schedules

  • We mostly keep a 9-5, but can accommodate different schedules and flexibility.
  • You’re paid for the hours you work.

learn, grow & Build

  • Learn from my 15 years of experience as well as from your other team members.
  • This is the ground-floor. Help build this company and have your ideas be heard.
  • We’re constantly looking for ways to improve our business and ourselves.

Balance & Positivity

  • We deliver above and beyond for our clients, while also setting boundaries so we don’t burn out on unreasonable expectations.
  • I was a freelancer for over 13 years, so I treat my team how I want to be treated.
  • We’re just nice to each other 🙂

Important Details

AGREEMENTS

  • We strive for a culture based on excellence, integrity, efficiency and improvement, and want to be sure we hire people who are enthusiastic about living those ideals as well.
  • Here are a list of agreements based on those values we ask you to make if you work with us. Please read them before applying.

HOURLY CONTRACT WORK

  • Currently, all positions are paid hourly, either in a weekly contract or on an as-needed basis.
  • We may be opening some full-time employment positions, but for now all talent starts as a contractor.

Fully Remote

  • We were 100% remote before the pandemic, and plan to continue after it ends.

PLEASE DO NOT

  • Reach out on other channels — Linkedin, email, booking a consultation, etc. This will not make you stand out, it just clutters my inboxes and will disqualify your application.

Application Process

Apply

  • Apply for a position below.
  • We’ll review and let you know either way.

Interview

  • If it looks good, we’ll do an initial interview.
  • Depending on the circumstances and role you’re applying for, we may schedule a follow up interview.

Test Project

  • If the interviews go well, we’ll approve you as a test candidate.
  • Test projects are paid projects for real clients, but simply to test working together.
  • Once we have a project that is appropriate to test with you, we will. This may be soon. It may be a while.
  • In the meantime, we may also share other external opportunities with you if you’re interested.

Approved Contractor

  • After a successful test project, we’ll approve you as a contractor and either:
    • Assign you work on an as-needed basis, and pay you every month.
    • Offer you a weekly retainer: 15–30 hours / week.

Open Jobs

Associate Creative Director

Details

  • Fully remote contract work
  • Project-based to possible weekly retainer of 15–30 hrs.
  • $60–90 / hour depending on experience, quality, efficiency — and volume of hours.

Responsibilities

  • Running your projects with minimal to no input from me — once onboarded and familiarized
  • Produce flawless and stunning original design work in brand development, collateral, website and UX design, and other promotional materials
  • Delivering great solutions in context as well as great design:
    • Taking practicality and use of the design into consideration — how it will be built, the goals of the brief, ask of the client — not just creating something cool.
  • Come up with brilliant creative concepts and make design decisions on your own
  • Manage projects, clients and other designers
  • Respond quickly, be on call during scheduled hours, and provide fast turnarounds
  • Execute less-exciting design production work with excellence

  • Maintain unwavering politeness and respect to our team and clients
  • Follow and improve our processes & protocols

Requirements

  • 10+ years professional design experience
    • Agency experience is a plus, but not required
  • Expert knowledge of Figma
  • Knowledge of Adobe CC programs — namely AI, PSD, INDD
  • Available 20–40 hours per week
  • Native English speaking
  • US time zones
  • Familiarity with WordPress basics
  • CSS and any front-end knowledge is a big plus, but not required
