Welcome!

Who we are & how this works

  • Hi, I’m Loren Polster, a graphic designer and front-end web developer of 15 years in the process of building a little virtual agency.
  • Over the last few years, we’ve specialized in integrated but flexible retainer contracts for medium-sized SaaS companies. We aim for an optimal blend of reliability and adaptability — combining the best of an in-house team and an external agency. As we explore this niche, we’re becoming more of a hybrid staffing resource.
  • That’s why this application isn’t a binary hiring process, but getting your name on a list for a growing number of opportunities —  here or elsewhere — that fit with what you’re looking for and specialize in.

We Can Offer

Adaptable schedules

  • While we mostly keep a 9-5 schedule, we accommodate flexibility and unpredictability.
  • You’re paid for the hours you work.

learn, grow & Build

  • Learn from my 15 years of experience as well as from your other team members.
  • This is the ground-floor. Help build this company and have your ideas be heard.
  • We’re constantly looking for ways to improve our business and ourselves.

Balance & Positivity

  • We deliver above and beyond for our clients, while also setting boundaries so we don’t burn out on unreasonable expectations.
  • I was a freelancer for over 13 years, so I treat my team how I want to be treated.
  • We’re just nice to each other 🙂

Open Jobs

Project Manager / Director of Ops

We’re looking for an operator. We’re looking for a problem-solving project manager — who gets excited about efficiency and repeatable processes — who owns projects and breaks them down into actionable tasks — who catches spelling errors, pixelated images, and systemic inefficiencies — with professionalism, politeness, empathy and levity. We’re looking for someone who can not only manage our projects, but who can proactively improve our systems and processes and eventually grow into a full-time director of operations.

Last year we saw roughly a 10x increase in monthly revenue and are aiming to scale our operation again this year. There’s a niche, and with your help, we can establish ourselves and perfect a repeatable formula that retains top talent and adapts to our clients’ needs.

The bulk of our work is retainer based for a few medium sized SaaS companies where we act like an integrated extension of their marketing department. This requires a lot of constant communication and managing multiple projects and small requests and updates with fast turnarounds. We use Asana, Slack, Dropbox, Everhour, Figma, Adobe CC and have some decent general protocols / SOPs in place — but our project management is currently done by two designers splitting the role between each other and design execution.

This role will likely start with a 20-hour / week trial period that will lead to a larger contract or full-time position if the fit is right and as our PM needs grow. We are hoping to start this by the beginning of March — possibly sooner.

Details

  • Field client communications and requests into records and tasks in our system.
  • Assign tasks to appropriate team members.
  • Doing quality control of work produced, as well as of client requests to ensure all appropriate information is gathered and understood.
  • Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
  • Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project change
  • Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
  • Using analytical thinking and problem solving to improve our processes and systems.
  • Ideally, be able to use design programs or edit web pages to some extent — to execute small edits without needing to assign to a team member.
